Most students visiting Thailand will travel to Bangkok. It is important to note that the city has had some anti-government events taking place in the region and some travel warnings may exist. The city itself is the capital of Thailand and is home to about 11 million people. It is the largest city by a significant amount. Visitors can expect a lot of traffic throughout the region. Nevertheless, this is the hub of political commercial, educational, and entertainment throughout the country.

Bangkok has a wide range of sites for individuals to see. The Old City area, also known as Rattanakosin, is home to many temples including the Grand Palace and Wat Pho. The Lumphini Park is the largest park in the area. Other important sites to visit include the Dusit Palace and Siam Square. A biking tour of the area is a popular way to see many of the sites.

For something of a more relaxing part of your journey through Thailand, visit Ko Phi Phi. It is a group of six islands in the southern portion of the country. It is widely considered to be the most beautiful area in the region. It is possible to spend time in the clear water and to enjoy the beaches openly. The area is not as large by any means as Bangkok, but it has plenty of beauty to offer.

A visit to Phi Phi Don, the largest of the islands, is a must. Monkey Beach, Fireshow, and the Tsunami Memorial Garden are all important locations to see. Additional, Yao Beach, Lanti Beach, and Ton Sai Bay are all ideal for those who want to enjoy local entertainment, including restaurants, bars and hotels.

The area of Koh Tao, which means Turtle Island, is in the central portion of the gulf coast. It used to be a location where political prisoners were held. Today, it is a modern area with plenty to offer. Nevertheless, this, too, is a smaller area with about 100,000 visitors traveling to it each year. What is interesting to many of today’s student travelers is the diverse eco system that is present here.

Sites in Koh Tao

There are many popular activities here, including free diving, for which there are various tours and training facilities. Scuba diving is also very popular. A bike tour around the island and snorkeling are two additional things to do. A trip to John Suwan Mountain Viewpoint on the southern portion of the island is an outstanding way to spend the day. All of the beaches are public and widely available, too.

Visiting Nonthaburi

Nonthaburi is often considered part of the Bangkok region, though it is a secondary city in the area. There are six districts here, each offering a unique cultural aspect. For those who plan to visit this area, realize the city is more than 400 years old and many of the historic buildings here are quite old. It is an ideal place to visit if you are hoping to spend some time in Bangkok, as it is a suburb of the bigger city.

Sites in Nonthaburi

There are golf courses here. There are numerous mosques and temples to visit. The IMPACT Exhibition Center is also located here. Visitors will want to visit Big Tiger, a prison in the area. There are popular bars and nightclubs in the region as well.

Thought Thailand is a popular option amongst those who are looking for an enjoyable vacation, it has plenty to offer today’s student traveler as well. There is no doubt that diversity and culture present in the various regions of the country are important to uncover. There is also a great deal of fun to be had, whether you are visiting for the beaches and the snorkeling opportunities or you plan to spend time in the nightclubs and bars.
