360 CHICAGO Offers a Different View for School Groups

Located 1,000 feet above the Magnificent Mile at 875 North Michigan Avenue, 360 CHICAGO offers breathtaking views of Chicago’s skyline, Lake Michigan and more. 360 CHICAGO is an observation deck that allows school groups to see the city in a way like never before. After taking one of the fastest elevator rides in the country up to the 94th floor of the John Hancock Center, students can learn and explore throughout the whole deck.

With the high-definition interactive touch screens, students will stare in awe as they guide their way through the city at every angle. By clicking on one of the nine neighborhoods of Chicago spotlighted on the deck, you will learn all about the history, architecture, natural scenery and culture of that area. Another multimedia exhibit, “The Stories and Photos of Michigan Pete,” features an interactive display that pays tribute to Michigan Pete, a head caisson inspector of the John Hancock Building. He captured his personal experiences in a journal that is now open to the public.

Students’ favorite element of 360 CHICAGO is often TILT, a revolutionary thrill ride that inverts visitors 30 degrees over the edge of the structure with unique views of the The Magnificent Mile™ and Water Tower Place. Reduced group rates and shortened ride cycles allow large parties to get through the attraction quickly and inexpensively, and group members not up for the experience can opt out of the thrill attractions.

Students can experience an elevated education at Sky School. With programs offered for all ages, teachers will find trivia, fun facts, practical resources and hands-on activities to optimize their students’ visit. Sky School offers resources to compliment student growth and learning through a diverse curriculum covering history, social studies, math, architecture, art and geography. Also available for student groups is a bundle package with Gino’s East Deep Dish Pizza—a must-do Chicago lunch.

If you really want to have an out-of-the-box experience, discover the 360 Chi Series. Students can discover Chicago though art, yoga, trivia, photography, magic and more. Every day of the week offers a different learning experience like Tripod Mondays, Sunday Funday and Sky Trivia Friday. 360 CHICAGO believes the history, culture and character of the city is unmatched. They strive to provide visitors with engaging daily activities to highlight the city at its best.

Before departing on the north side of the John Hancock building where buses can pick students up, make sure to take a group picture and stop at the souvenir shop to show off your incredible 360 experience.
