SeaWorld’s Educational Programs

In addition to the general Instructional Field Experience, SeaWorld Orlando offers several Add-On Educational Programs that provide deeper insights into animal care, conservation, and careers in wildlife science. These programs are designed to elevate the educational experience, offering students exclusive opportunities to learn directly from SeaWorld’s experts.

Rescue Center Tour

One of the standout add-on programs is the Behind-the-Scenes Rescue Center Tour. This tour takes students behind the scenes to SeaWorld’s Rescue Center, where they can witness firsthand the critical work that goes into rescuing and rehabilitating animals.

Guided by a knowledgeable SeaWorld Educator, students will explore the specialized equipment used to reach and treat aquatic and terrestrial animals from central Florida and beyond. They’ll also glimpse SeaWorld’s state-of-the-art Veterinary Hospital, where animals receive around-the-clock care. This program enhances students’ understanding of animal care and veterinary medicine and inspires them to consider their own roles in wildlife conservation. By seeing the dedication and expertise required to save animals in need, students are encouraged to think about how they can contribute to ensuring that animals thrive in their natural environments.

Wildlife Science and Animal Care

For students interested in exploring careers in Wildlife Science and Animal Care, the Zoo Talk program is a perfect fit. This session provides an exclusive opportunity for students to engage with a Zoological Expert in a classroom setting.

During this interactive experience, students can ask questions and gain insights into what it takes to pursue a career in animal care and conservation. The program also includes a unique encounter with a shark, adding an exciting element to the learning experience. By speaking directly with a Zoological Animal Care Specialist, students can learn about the different pathways to a career in Wildlife Science, from the educational requirements to the day-to-day responsibilities. This program is an excellent way for students to explore their interests and gain inspiration for their future careers.

Deep Dive into Animal Care

The third program is the Deep Dive into Animal Care. This experience offers students a behind-the-scenes look at how SeaWorld’s Animal Care Specialists care for the animals that call the park home. Unlike other experiences available to the general public, this program grants students exclusive access to an animal stadium, where they can observe a live training session.

During this time, students will learn about the principles of animal behavior and training, gaining a deeper understanding of how positive relationships are built between animals and their caretakers. The program also includes a discussion with SeaWorld’s Zoological team, allowing students to ask questions and learn more about the commitment required to ensure the health and well-being of the animals. This program is particularly valuable for students interested in animal behavior, training, or veterinary science, as it provides a unique perspective on the work that goes into caring for SeaWorld’s diverse array of species.

Aquatica–SeaWorld’s Water Park

In addition to these educational programs, SeaWorld Orlando offers a convenient group space at Aquatica. SeaWorld’s renowned zoological team also extends its expert care into Aquatica Orlando, which is the only place in the Western Hemisphere where you can see Commerson’s dolphins. At Aquatica Orlando, your students can marvel at these magnificent creatures, as well as Leopard Sharks, schools of sardines and a variety of other fish, while learning about their behaviors and habitats from zoological experts. Students will love the rush of sliding through the Commerson’s habitat on Reef Plunge or taking it a bit slower as view the underwater habitat while coasting through the fish grotto on the lazy river.

Did you know that Aquatica also has group space? New at Tassie’s Twisted Cove, this reserved seating area provides a home base for chaperones and students throughout the day. The space is ideal for lunch breaks and offers easy access to the group gate, making bus drop-off and pick-up more efficient. With its central location and convenient amenities, the group space at Tassie’s Twisted Cove is a valuable addition to any field trip, ensuring that students and chaperones have a comfortable and organized experience.
